The Welk Homestead is on the National Register of Historical Sites. It is open to visitors from may 15 to September 15.

Farm sodhouse home at the Welk Homestead where Lawrence Welk was born on March 11, 1903. Ludwig and Christina Welk raisen eight children in this one bedroom home. Lawrence would sleep in the attic where he also practiced with his accordian.

The red barn stands at the Welk Homestead. The original barn is no longer at the homestead. Lawrence Welk would practice playing the accordian in the loft of the barn.
